Hello all, I posted about a month ago and have since had my first rheumatology appointment. My rheumy was very thorough and she diagnosed probable SLE, severe vitamin D deficiency, Raynaud's, arthritis in my thumb bases and right hip. She has requested further investigation of the severe pain and tenderness in my lower back and neurological symptoms in my right leg as I limp and my foot is turning inward. Started on Hydroxychloroquine and 50,000 IU Vitamin D per week in addition to the lovely cocktail of meds that I was taking prior to diagnosis πΉ.
Back to see her in 3 months and awaiting an appointment with my GP to sort out a few other things.
Diagnosis brings with it both order and disorder so I am still getting used to this, even though I knew really what the outcome of the appointment would be. This last year has been a real struggle but I will not be beaten.
Time to reset, recharge, rethink and reorder my priorities. My "bread and butter" job will soon be no more because I cannot manage the strenuous physical effort but the other profession I trained for is now my focus so I will persevere. On a good day I can achieve a lot but I sometimes try and cram too much in and end up shattered for the next week. I am lucky to have a partner who supports and is really good at reminding me not to overdo it (nagging π ) and sometimes I listen.
I lurk around the forum quite a bit and look forward to reading posts - this forum has been a great support and help to me in the last few months, so thank you, you beauties β€πππ
