Pain : Hi I'm new to this currently had lupus... - LUPUS UK
Pain
Sorry you are in so much pain I myself have been on tramadol for about 10yrs when it's bad in the day and I know it's going to be bad at night they gave me natriptalin which seem at be better than amitriptalin as it makes me far less drowsy when I take these I get a full nights sleep for the last 4/5 days been getting up at 4/430 as I can't lie in bed and don't want to wake the wife as you know it's a double whammy you are awake but sleepy and board hope it settles down soon for you
If you are still in a lot of pain, your lupus medications may not be working for you. You should consider discussing a change or increase of your lupus medications with your rheumatologist.
Hello Lisa,
Is that all your medication? If you have a diagnosis of lupus, it's quite usual to be prescribed a DMARD (disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug) which reduces symptoms by altering the disease process rather than simply treating the symptoms.
If you are still suffering 2 years in, it might be that, as Bebe76 says, the most useful thing you can do is to discuss your medication with your specialist.
Hope things improve soon x

Regular exercise helps to improve sleep quality. Exercise should be done at least a couple of hours before going to bed; otherwise the mind may be too active, making it more difficult to sleep. We published a blog article on exercising with lupus which you can read here: lupusuk.org.uk/lupus-and-ex...
The NHS Choices’ website provides information on sleep hygiene which I hope will be of use to you: nhs.uk/LiveWell/sleep/Pages...
