This is my first time in the Spanish sun since my diagnosis UCTD (?SCLE) and we've managed to get 2 weeks of 33+degrees with full on sun!! Whilst I've not covered myself I've been putting a factor 50 with 5* UVA rating all the time and most of the time i've been sensible about avoiding the midday sun. On sat, our trip to Barcelona and our shade by the pool plans went wrong and i spent more time than i needed in the sun at midday. At the end of the day, i developped some small spots(bumps really) on the top of my knees. I have now developed more on the top of my arms and these appear to be slightly itchy. I think i had the occasional bumps like this around the body recently but in such small numbers that i did not give it much thought. Are these heat bumps, prickle heat, smething else?? Or are they due to the sun? Has anyone had this? What do you guys use to treat them and should i let my doctor know about this? It's def not a lupus or scle circular rash type thing. I want to avoid self treating with meds as last time i did i ended with my suspicious scle rash in the area but any natural products that i could try would be helpful too. Many thanks!

Heat bumps
Hi there I am sorry to hear you are suffering like this I to have this in the sun and I know it is hell, I only have to be in the sun for 10 mins and they are all over me. I find that calomine lotion helps with the itching. Hope you find that helpful x
So you think this is the sun for sure? I can control the heat in the UK but not the sun so much so i was hoping it was more of a heat thing. I have been generally ok in the sun this year but this week has been mental with the heat as well with the sun too. Is this a lupus AI thing? Can be this classed as being photosensitive basically? The reason being is that so far my symptoms have been little fortunately but obviously not keen on acquiring new ones so quickly...i know how bad things can get by reading this forum so basically i'm a bit paranoid i can get quite ill soon. My hope was actually that if i was sensible and i took care of myself i'd manage. Spain in july was probably not a great idea but i cant juat not visit my parents!
I am currently in Croatia ,it is so hot at the minute so hard to avoid,
I have developed big bumps on my shines solid and hot to touch, feel like bone,
I have been so well just a bit tired ,so I am so happy I came ,I bought some aloe Vera gel from the chemists that as cooled them down a bit ,
First time I have felt normal in years .
Xxxxxxxx
Thank you so much for all the replies and helpful advice. i've written to my dermatoligist so will see what he says too! It's good to see i'm not alone. I should prob avoid trips in the middle if the summer as so far i had been ok in the UK. Not sure what i'll do when kids are in school though! 😭
Enjoy Croatia Pamjoy. One of the places on my to-visit list! Shame i left that and other sunny places to visit when i had kids preferring colder northern countries in the past. now i wont be able to enjoy them properly... damn this disease! 😂
