I been diagnosed with ttp stands for thrombotic thrombocytopenia purpura seens 2005, i have relapsed with ttp but seens 09 that i had my last episode i been getting other immune probs i have a few, now heama drs think i might just have itp immune thrombocytopenia. My platelets been between 80 and 120 for almost 2 yrs seens i had my 3rd baby. Im taking iron supplements and if i stop them im anemic real quick. And now the are still in the lowish side. So its platelets, red cells, hemoglobin and vit b12. I been extremely fatigued there are daysi cant move im so tired, sore muscles and joints. Night sweats, headaches and just a few days ago my neck started getting red and my chest, its itchy but not all the time, little lumpy red things, but its been getting worse. I thought maybe an allergic rection but what did i do different? I have recently started going outside and sitting on the sun than at night im itching and a little burning and red neck and chest. Just wondering could i have lupus and drs never find out. I need a diagnose. I want this over with and need my energy back. Can anyone help?

I would definitely stay out of the sun if the doctors suspect lupus because that makes it worse.

It does take a while to diagnose lupus or other immune condition causing these problems. if you have a new set of symptoms go to your doctor because that will help them diagnose you.

The other thing to add is to take a look at the LupusUK pamphlets on the "home" page of this site. They have lots of information which might be helpful, including what tests are needed to diagnose lupus/SLE x

Hi Sil22,

Have your doctors requested any tests for lupus yet? Are you just under the care of your GP and hematologist or have you also had a referral to a rheumatologist?

It is possible that the symptoms you have mentioned could be caused by lupus, but it is not the only possible cause and so further investigations are needed.

If you are finding that you get rashes after going out in the sun, it is important to protect yourself against UV exposure. You can find tips for this at

If you need more information about lupus and how it is diagnosed, you can request or download one of our free information packs at

Iam seeing both heamatologist and gp. I did see a rheumatoid dr too.
