Assessment day
Hi I just posted similar thing π I have a home visit booked end of July, how did your Home visit go if you don't mind me asking? I'm getting rather stressed about a stranger coming to our home to nose and poke at me lol x
The home visit was ok . I got turned down and went to appeal . I will say the assessor tries to be friendly with you but don't let that fool you if I'm honest . My Assesor was nice and seemed to understand but she said I was fine
That's terrible π³ Do they not take into account ANY of the documents from healthcare professionals? How can they judge a person on an hour or so? I'm starting to think I should prepare my mind for an appeal x
Well when got back her report . She claimed she asked me to do all these things . She didn't . As the things she said I could do I clearly I couldn't if you asked me .
I hope your next assessor is better than her π³ I hope mine doesn't tell fibs too!
I'm afraid my experience was the same as LouLambs. Lots and lots of fibs!
That gives me a heads up, I'm going to ask my OT if she could attend and take notes!
Hi Anya, interestingly my assessor was a very friendly and pleasant OT. She asked me to do some physical exercises, some of which I simply couldn't do and some of which I tried, but did badly. The report said that I had no difficulty with any of them! There were lots of other untruths too. I was very naive I'm afraid. You sound a bit more cluey than me. Best of luck.
π³ that's shocking! I'm wondering if I could get away with refusing anything he/she asks me to do, but then again they might say I didn't cooperate!
Yes you can refuse. With hindsight, I should have said no but I thought she was a nice person and I trusted her.
Also I lost points because I 'looked clean and tidy' Another comment was 'although you say that you have a wide circle of friends, you came on your own'
Miffords posts on the subject are very telling
Hi, Went through the same assessment process with my wife, really friendly assessor then his report came, he totally contradicted the things that were said during the meet. Failed to receive pip so I took it to appeal and won. At present going through the same with DWP for ESA working group claim, it is a nightmare but don't give up.
Hi loulamb
Good luck for your assessment. Will think of you. Let us know how you get on and fingers crossed you get good result. X
