Lumps... auto immune link?

Has anyone suffered with lumps like these? I was dignoised with a benign tumour in my left cheek but when the right also did the same the plastic surgeon refused a date for surgery and ordered further investigation. I’m now thinking they are auto immune linked as on 10mg of prednisolone the one on my left cheek had virtually disappeared. When I dropped to 5mg it began to appear again now 0mg they have become prominent again and people are once again beginning to notice. Anyone have similar experience? I’ve added a photo. They sometimes appear bruised.

Do you have TMJ problems or grind your teeth? I have it in the exact place and also bruises and it’s caused by that. Try to be referred to a Maxilofacial, your dentist can do it for you.

No nothing like that. I’ve seen him he has done a scan which he thought revealed large dilated piroted glands so he then preformed a silogram which was ok my glands are normal. He said the only thing left is nerves? So an MRI I’m assuming now but my case is being discussed this week. So I was curious if anyone had experienced the same symptom.

Good luck with your test and hope it isn’t anything serious. I must say mine is the same and sometimes more obvious than others

I’m becoming more and more convinced it’s linked somehow... thank you for your reply. xx

Hi Angie,

I have had both my parotid glands removed over the years, they had become infected, or blocked causing my face and neck to swell needing antibiotics to relieve the symptoms. At the time this was going on I had not been diagnosed with Lupus, although later on it was decided that I had probably had an underlying problem since my teens. I had the typical Lupus rash, but it was dismissed as being hormonal due to taking the pill. In fact all of my past medical issues seem to have stemmed from Lupus, diagnosed or not!

I'm not sure whether this helps

The lumps only appear there on my face and the one on the right side is quite big now. I saw the consultant today and she thinks it could be linked. She said they will investigate further either way. So some good need. :) xx
