I got to London and Back. Yippee!

Yesterday was important because my son had been nominated for a rather splendid award in his profession and wanted mum to be there. Over the weekend I had a pain flare, but GP prescribed an extra butrans patch which kicked in to take the worst away. I managed Leeds to London and back yesterday, on the train. Absolutely wiped out, I really haven't been able to do much for a very long time, but .......son won! 🍾

Am now retiring under a cosy blanket with an audiobook. πŸ‘

Fantastic news about your sons award! And that you were able to be there to see him win. How lovely. Memories to cherish. Take time to recover now. x

Loving the thought of you resting up after achieving this wonderful big outing

Brilliant LK - you must have been bursting with pride! Well worth the resulting wipe out for such an important event.

My son won an award last week too but it was an internal university event only. Yours was obviously unmissable so well done him. You can rest up triumphantly! Xx

Thanks all. It was (apart from thrilled mum moment) an interesting experiment in comfiest shoes and how chairs/seats differ enormously in degrees of discomfort πŸ˜‚

That's brilliant! You must be so proud of your son. It is wonderful you managed to attend. I hope you are feeling fine today. Sometimes the flare in symptoms for a few days is worth it. I was like that when my brother got his PhD. Wasn't missing that for anything. Xx

I too applaud you for making the effort and how wonderful to have a moment of pride. How we all need a dose of adrenaline with endorphins to spur us on!
