Temporarily anyway lol

Went and saw my dermatologist, explained how my visit went with lupus clinic in Montreal and showed him my new growth.

I mentioned my love of using the Prednisone but my skepticism on using it again as I felt it alleviated some of my symptoms that have not been assessed and diagnosed yet.

He put me back on, starting at 30 mg for 5 days down to 5 mg and also referred me to see the dermatologist at the immunology clinic in our university of Alberta facility.... FINALLY!!!!!!

I've waited 2.75 long years for this to happen :)

When I asked him why my hair was growing back, were my biopsy results wrong? Maybe the hair follicles weren't terminal, he said no. Your hair should not be growing back and he still believes my biopsy report to be true to form.

In short...a freaking miracle :)

I will take it!

Now to figure out the rest of my symptoms...went for second blood work for Lyme disease today... hopefully it's not that and my daughter went for her second round of blood work surrounding ana...fingers crossed there too :)

Wow - you're in Canada and you have suspected Lyme as well as Lupus? Me too... It's tough getting people to take your Lyme seriously here. I'm on Vancouver Island where, apparently, "we don't have a problem". The thousands of sufferers who KNOW they have been bitten and have become immediately symptomatic (including me) would say otherwise... Anyway, I have found a lot of relief with a combination of iodine natural supplements, Vitamin D, iron and C. Just a thought. Make sure you get all those levels tested (well, except C). People usually don't bother with D and a lot of us are really low. Best wishes!!

Hi Lara

Well done with fighting and getting the result that your going to be seen by a Dermy in the immunology clinic!. You must feel very relieved, a battle won that shouldn't have to be hard fought for but is for us sufferers. Hopefully they will be able to tell you definitely what illness you have. Hope you soon feel better on the pred and good luck for your daughters blood results. Tough she's going thru similar as you but you can help each other I guess. X

Excellent start Lara yay! 👏🏼👏🏼. Am v glad your daughter is being followed through too. It's been a worrying time for you . Hope the prednisolone hits the spot and that the clinic appointments go well.

Hugs 🤗

Penny,

Oh my, I worship Prednisone but my doc (dermatologist) only puts me on cycling doses (which ok while I'm on it, sadly)

My daughter, I'm tempted to put her on 5mg (and sacrifice my 5 mg each day) just to see how she fares on it. (I am so more than positive she has it).

But I don't like monkeying around with meds like that.

However. Each day I see her ask me questions...mom why do i bruise like this....mom why do i have this rash....mom why...mom why...

It tears me apart inside, like no one knows.

Writing this brings tears.

I only hope and pray...

Xoxo
