Hey I'm currently undergoing diagnosis. I visited my gp with all the symptoms, rash, achey, tiredness and had a blue fingers which was my biggest concern. she diagnosed me with raynauds disease but said that the other symptoms resembled lupus. I was sent for a full blood count, liver function test and a ANA test however these all came back fine! she was still convinced that it resembles lupus and I have now been referred to the hospital to seems rheumatologist next week! I would just ask your gp if she is going to run bloods to rule things out. There isn't a single test to diagnose lupus, it's just a puzzle pieced together. I hope you manged to get some answers xx

Hi Hidden ,
Lupus is generally diagnosed through a combination of blood tests, physical examination, discussion of symptoms and evaluation of family medical history.
A couple of the blood tests that are commonly used to diagnose lupus are antinuclear antibody (ANA test) and anti-dsDNA antibody test. You can read more about these tests and how lupus is diagnosed in our factsheet here - lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
