Soft gel ice pacs were of great help to me when I suffered with severe Lupus lesions on my scalp. This also kept my hair loss to a min & it came back strong & healthy. Best Wishes to you. Kaz x

I hav had similar on and off for a few years and each time I would swollen lymph nodes in neck behind ears and St back of head. Like you I switched shampoo over and over. I use herbal essences clearly naked shampoo now and haven't had the itching and lumps for over four months. It tries to come back on my neck if I get sweaty and don't wash straight away like if I wear a scarf to work by the end of the day I have red marks. But the shampoo has made a huge difference 😀

Hi, I have these regular a bit like hives, raised mass of lumps, can be very hard lumps behind ears and bottom of skull at bk of head.

Also get them on shoulder area can be very itchy but mine go down after a few hours!

I also get lots of little scabs on my scalp what don't want to go away, can become sore at times.

It's all part of lupus I guess, but my reumy never listens to all my extras that come with lupus, he just seems interested in joint pain which leaves me frustrated on leaving!!

Hi Jo you might need to see your doctor about this as a similar thing happened to me when I first started off with Lupus. The itching drove me mad, saw the doctor who gave me a prescription for Benovate which is cortisone based and soon gave me relief. It came back two months later, got more Benovate and been fine since.

Thank you. I thought I was alone. Itchy lumps on my head that I scratch till they bleed. Drives me mad. Have mentioned to docs but never had anything for it, now I know what to ask for.

Please try not to scratch - not knowing what it was I did and ended up losing a patch of hair which will not grow back. JanW is right - go to Doc asap and get Betnovate - cold packs do help. Good luck

Thanks. I will go to docs, just thought it was something I just had to get on with..as the doc seemed to just pass over it. Will be a big relief for the itching to stop.

Hi Jo, best get it checked out by your GP,...I was referred to see a Dermatologist and had a biopsy taken from my scalp, results showed I have Lichen Planus and Scarring Alopecia ... 18 months later my hair is still falling out and now have a large bald patch on the top of my head. After numerous blood tests and seeing a Rheumatologist, he informs me that my ANA is very high but other tests are negative even though I have al the symptoms of Lupus, he says I have undifferentiated connectivie tissue disease. I'm no wiser iis Lupus or not ?. Best of luck.
