Hair breaking & bald spot

Has anyone found any help for hair breakage & bald spots. I am currently undiagnosed however all specialists ''suspect'' auto immune. Will this quit when they find appropriate meds. Does it just come & go like the other symptoms. Thank you.

I have this too - finally diagnosed with Discoid Lupus and Sjogrens - both can have hair loss as a symptom. Get referred to a Dermatologist - DONT waste money on over counter products they don't work. Wash hair less frequently and be gentle with it - am on Hydroxychloroquine now and they tell me to be patient - drug has certainly eased a lot of symptoms. Drs will just call it auto immune problem for months and months. Make sure you tell them about all symptoms as there are so many - Good luck and stay on this website - a life line! Cas70

@Sheole i guess it would depend on what medication an what you have been diagnosed with. I was having that issue real bad here while back an I found it to be a medication I was taking to be causing it an I talked with my friend at Sally's Beauty supply store an she recommended a good shampoo an conditioner an it has worked wonders it's called 180. I would go see my PC an have him run some blood work to see if something has changed within yourself. Some Deficiency with our vitiamins an the rest in our system could be under or over an can make this occur.

If you have a Endocrinologist or Rheumatologist make appointment to go see them as well.

Just a few ideal for you to check into.

Thank you Zee. I am only on Naproxyn some of the time. Sparadic Prednesone too. I have no diagnosis other than auto immune suspected. Blood tests continue to show inflammation otherwise i would question my sanity with all these odd symptoms.

Will make appointment with Rheumy right away.

@Sheole if they've told you that you have autoimmune disorder did they do more testing to figure out which one? I've been told they think I have an autoimmune disorder too, but they won't commit Ian say which. They have tossed around the possibility of lupus but not definitely.

I'm on couple pain medd. I have several medical issues. I live in severe pain every day.

It's gotten worse in the last few months. Since a young lady Tboned my SUV in June.

I'm also on calcium and vitamin d to help with my osteoporosis some.

Keep us updated on what is going on.

Thanks Zee. They havn't said which one. They say maybe , SLE, Vasculitis, scleroderma & Sjorgens. Maybe named another possible one or two,

Inflamation travels & seems to mainly be in lungs & in bowels, lymph area & brain. Pain follows inflammation in those areas.

They continue to do blood tests along with scans/had a recent lung biopsy. But I'm realizing this diagnosis may take a long while.

Taking vita d & is only supplement. I did try no wheat, sugar & dairy for 6 weeks. Noticed no diff. But will try again one at a time.

Hoping your pain improves. Take care & keep me posted on how your doing.

Take care.

Thanks Fabienne, I will download this.

I have resigned my self to the fact that this will be a long process. I am thankful I have found your site as so helpful. Otherwise one feels so alone, as not much support for these challenging symptoms

Have a good day.
