Hi witch2 ,

I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced nasty side effects from your treatments. Have you discussed this with your consultant to see whether a change in dose, method of taking them or a switch to a different treatment may help?

I would urge caution with any alternative/complementary treatments/therapies and diets and encourage you to discuss them with a qualified, certified medical professional before trying them. Some of these can have adverse effects in complicated conditions like lupus and can also interact with a variety of medications.

Due to lupus being so varied, what works for one person may not work for another and can be potentially harmful.

The recommended diet for people with lupus is one that is healthy and balanced. There are some foods that you could limit/avoid and others that may be beneficial. You can learn more in our booklet, 'Lupus and Healthy Eating' which can be viewed and downloaded here - lupusuk.org.uk/diet-and-exe...

Hi Paul I have unspecified connective tissue but mum and daughter have lupus so am on spectrum but never confirmed by blood test. I have had methotrexate fiddle with and have to inject as I am so sick with it. I just dont want to go down this route of taking tablets because I am taking other tablets. I have such a sensitive body that reacts to drugs - even on mild dose of steroids feel sick foggy headed and have a constant head ache and light headed not to mention the hubby wanting to divorce me due to being grumpy.

I feel there has to be things I can try to help my condition. Once I find a therapist I will go the GP and ask for help and support. My GP already knows I use mindfulness and meditation and Reiki to good effect. thanks for the site will have a look at it.
