If you have some of the symptoms of lupus without all the clinical markers to make a diagnosis, they may consider it a 'lupus-like' condition or 'probable lupus'. This is sometimes also called undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD). The symptoms are generally treated the same, regardless of the particular condition causing it, so treatment is often prescribed for UCTD to see if it helps.
