Appeal : Just got a call from the citizen advice... - LUPUS UK
Appeal
Hi LouLamb ,
If you are a member of LUPUS UK, we have a number of guides for benefit appeals which you may find helpful. The full list can be seen here - lupusuk.org.uk/benefits/
Just send me an email at paul@lupusuk.org.uk and let me know which guides you need.
If you want support at the hearing, contact your local Welfare Rights team. You should be able to get the number from the local council offices
Hi LouLamb. Further to tired18's response, Citizens Advice should also be able to let you know of other, local organisations which may be able to help you. I really hope that you find someone; do post and let us know. Best wishes.
I'll just go with my mum and see what happens. I was looking online and it says it's could to make notes , about what you disagree with about the decision . They give you a copy of the examiners report
I went to appeal, in respect of the former Incapacity Benefit, around 10 years ago now. You may be au fait with the appeal process but I wasn't. My advisor at JobCentrePlus urged me to contact an organisation, similar to Citizens Advice, for support - which I did. Thank goodness. The lady who helped me, and came to the appeal, knew exactly what was what and clicked into professional mode as soon as we sat down. I won my appeal - thanks to her.
So if you aren't familiar with the process and you are able to contact your local welfare rights team plus check for other potential avenues of support with CAB, then it may be well worth doing.
Best wishes
