chill blains: why oh why can i not get rid of my... - LUPUS UK
chill blains
I do sympathise as I have suffered many times over the years. Having said that, some years I haven't had a single one so don't give up hope - they can go away at any time and give you a break.
had em every year for last few years
I suffer with them on my toes too..... bloody annoying!!! I do find that peppermint foot lotion from the body shop helps ...... makes yr toes tingle!!! xx
are they common in lupus
I don't know if it is common in Lupus but I do know it runs in families. My mothers family had them and my husbands mothers family had them. Both my daughters have had them I have had them and now my husband has them. My mother-in-law's advice was to urinate on them, my girls thought that was disgusting, lol. We have found that taking ginger capsules every day from October to March helped one of my daughters and using Chilblain cream. Hope this is of some help to you.
I have had chilblains for years mainly on my toes. About 15 years ago they were paricularly bad and my doctor prescribed Adalat over the winter and it did help.
the med i give makes me so dizzy
I have suffered with chillblains every winter for as long as i can remeber,,so around end of october i take Nifedepine(Adalat retard)as someone else posted.I call this my magic cure as i have found it really does the trick. My toes would swell,,itch, burn and id scratch till they were raw!!Nothing helped,,well maybe pure aloe vera sap,,,i kept a plant especially for this and relief for my skin. Moss,,maybe if you have tried this one and made you dizzy is because they can lower your blood pressure and maybe yours could be slightly lower anyway,,hence would make you dizzy!!I would just ask for a lower dose,,,i don't swear by many drugs but this one i do,,it does excatly what it says on "The tin",,,,,ha ha.Good luck.x
