Hi molly19,
There are a few different brands of hydroxychloroquine that are available. They all have the same amount of the active ingredient, but have slightly different formulations. Some people with lupus may find that they experience adverse reactions on certain brands, but this can vary between people.
If you find that a particular brand suits you best, you could ask your GP to specify that brand on your prescription so that your pharmacist has to supply that, rather than whichever brand they have available.
Hydroxychloroquine sulphate made by Zentiva is Plaquenil just rebranded.
Quinoric is a generic which made me desperately ill and put other Lupus patients in hospital. It has ingredients which should not be in a drug for people with auto immune diseases.
Ask you Gp for hydroxychloroquine by Zentiva.
I will wish they would stop copping and changing quixotic taste terrible and sticks to dry mouth x thank you
Be careful with the pref that is a high dosage you don't want to be on that for a long time If you get any bone problems or ligament problems go back to them emidiatly Also if you are using pref at that level they should have given you most important calcium tablets to take with it if they have not given you calcium ask why not as this pref reduces you calcium intake
