...me too..much as I love the warm sunny days my systems not so keen so its indoors for me as well. I wait till the suns passed over the back of the house and then sit in the warm shade as I burn easily...

Barnclown we had horseflies around, must be 2 years ago, and I was bitten 4 times, 2 on each leg. Was poorly in the night, sat up putting ice packs on them as I was burning up...shivering in bed one minute and then burning. My sister made me see a chemist in Boots but I'd already been putting creams on I'd ordered online so there wasnt much she could do. Still have 4 scars..pesky things. I think thats the first time bites like that have really bothered me...

My lupus is worse during the summer. I still do get out in the sun. I have decided I will put up with it and have a life. My doctors and I talke about it. It will be give and take. If I am out in the sun I will get more rashes/blisters, and drained of energy. If you look at my page you can see some photos I have posted of rashes. I have a rash on my right foot and I have not worn shoes in almost 2 years. (Other than leather or cloth flip flops sandals when absolutely necessary).

my motto has become.......

DON't STOP LIVING, LEARN TO LIVE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

Doesn't any of you have to buy certain sun creams or like a certain factor or make

Prescription all the way - sunsense, factor 50. Tinted special one for my face and one standard one for my body :) April to October. Plus cover ups and sunglasses. Scotland's UVA and UVB levels are terrible. x

Hello. My GP prescribes me Ego Sun Sense Factor 50+. It's an Aussie make. It's very good. They do a tinted facial one, which I buy on Amazon for about £15 a go. My BB cream sits on top of my moisturiser & the face factor 50, if I do want to wear makeup - not that often these days. But I found the general one from the doctor gives me face a greasy look and makes my face white - well I'm pale enough already! The tinted one is nicer. Someone has told me their GP prescribes the face one, but I've never asked my GP. I do tend to have lazy days when I hide it n my house from the sun but if I do go out, factor 50+ (on my face all year round), a floppy sun hat, rash vests for the beach, sit in the shade if you can, maybe get a pretty parasol - just be really careful. I have 3 children and so can't stay in all the time, it wouldn't be fair on them, plus we live by the coast. Good luck.

The warm weather already affecting me badly  - i have raised red patches and a rash and i am only guilty of planting a few bulbs. I am unable to access outside without protective glasses and I should wear loose cotton clothing  covering arms and legs   I am more tired (if at all possible) when it is hot weather.

Yes we probably all use sunscreen, that is something we've all got us to and,  honestly for me using sunscreen goes without saying it now. I use 70+ uv protection. I still get more rashes/blisters and feel totally drained after being in the sun. As I posted earlier I'm not going to stop living because of lupus!
