Sick

Every time I take my methotraxte I'm sick straight after . Yesterday I took the 6 tablets and was sick . Today I took 1 folic acid and was sick. I can only take tablets with milk. But I constantly feel sick. Yesterday I had a terrible headache most likely a migraine . Really fed up at the moment

That was me ask to go on the injections it really makes a difference I now am on 17.5 injections and font feel sick at all

My rheumy told me to consider injections . I'm 16 and hate needles . How bad is the injections ? Do you have the actual needle or the pen ?

Mine are a pen that you throw away after use its ok its only once a week and the benefits far out weigh and you do feel better I would ho for them or try them to stop you feeling sick

Do you still take folic acid tablets after ? Where do you inject them ? Is it painful?

I take folic acid 6 days a week I don't take it on the day of my injection I inject into the top of my leg it's just like a blood test I think you can do it in your belly to

I will talk to my rheumy when I go on the 18th. I took a folic acid today as have to take them 5 days a week now and I was sick. I only used a tiny bit of milk so don't think it was because of the milk.

I did feel awful with the tabs but ok on injections all you can do is give it a go hope its better for you nothing worse than feeling or being sick

Hi I totally agree with you, rheumatologist change my from tablets to injection. Feel much better now, it comes in a epi-pen it's so fast you don't feel it. He also increased my Folic Acid from once a week to 6 days (mis out day of injection)

Speak to the rheumy nurse, clearly not good to be sick all the time. I used the injections for a while. Very easy to do the needle is so fine you barely feel it. You only need to it once a week, I used to do it last thing at night. They will give you support lesson on how to do it.

Did your doctor enzyme test you to make sure you can metabolize it properly? Some people lack an enzyme and get deathly ill with it. You could try splitting the dose in half and taking it twice a day instead of once per day. I typically have to do that with my drugs and it helps a lot.
