I seem to be down with flue at least once every month. It always happens after I have been to my allotment. It starts off as hay fever . Is anybody else experiencing this. Don't want to give up my allotment.

Could it just be really bad hayfever rather than flu? Hayfever can feel like flu or a bad cold when you get it really badly. Have you tried taking antihistamines to see if they help?

thanks for commenting. I do take antihistamines. My whole body was aching and headaches ++next time I ll make sure I have the flue vaccine. Last winter I didn't because I wanted to see how I would get on without it.

Flu-like symptoms are often a symptom of a lupus flare. When you are at your allotment, are you being careful to limit your exposure to sunlight? Are you overdoing it at the allotment and potentially triggering flares?

I have hay fever and am also a keen gardener. When I get washed and dressed in the morning, I apply my factor 50 and Vaseline to my eye lashes and nostrils - as long as you breathe through your nose, my theory is that any irritants get caught by the Vaseline before entering your respiratory system. It works for me! Good luck, Heather
