Hi, I have sle and was admitted to hospital this week end with tachycardia. They treated me with blood thinning medicine etc, but the cardiologist did not know what had caused it. I have to have an 24hr ECG and echo.. just wondered if anyone had experienced this and what they said may have caused it.. Thanks

Tachycardia and SLE
Hi Snoopy
Lupus can cause inflammation of the heart and lung linings and one of the symptoms is tachycardia, amongst other things. It's good you are having the right tests to see what could have caused yours. Good luck for them and let us know how you get on. X
I had tachycardia pretty much the whole time I tried Azathioprine. It stopped as soon as I stopped taking it both times I tried. I think I'm hypersensitive to the stuff.

Hi cookie cutter76. Thanks for you reply. I was due to start new meds so only been on low dose steroid . I too am sensitive to the meds... It's a flipping challenge isn't it? Thanks again and hope you are ok x
I had tachycardia and lots of tests on my heart and blood tests and it turned out to be a decrease in hormones perimenopause I was put on hrt. Just another path to explore. Jean
Sorry if I assumed you were female but men can also have decreasing hormones.
Hi I too suffered for many years some days worse than others I also have anxeity which drs put everything down to have had many tests and 24 hr recorders it's a horrible feeling mine goes so fast even walking around the house sometimes I hope you get answers and get sorted xx
Hi Poodlegal, thanks for your reply. It sounds like you have suffered and it's so easy for lupus to be put down to other things. It was quite frightening I can tell you! Hope you are ok x
