Laser or IPL? Can lupus patients have treatment?

Hay there I had my baby girl at 38weeks my birth was amazing, but nw have problems with the joints again ad tiredness anyways the q was laser or IPL i heard lupus patients can't get the treatment done coz of the Uvb/uv lighting? Is this true has any one had laser or IPL treatment with lupus? Thank you

Yes, I was having IPL while being tested for lupus and it did cause flares for me.

Thanks for ur reply, was ur flare a major one? Or minor? Ad r u still having IPL done?

I don usually wait to see whether a flare gets to be major, I start taking steroids as soon as the first signs of a flare appear, so I couldn't tell you. I've stopped the ipl when I got diagnosed anyway. I'm very cautious now, I don't even have shellac mani/pedi anymore, because of the uv light used to dry the polish.

Oh thanks for that coz Iv Tryed the uv lamp a few times but I was fine with it, I just don't Nw weather to start ILP or not? In two mind what would u suggest?

I am thinking of having it done but wasent sure about it coz heard wasent good if u had lupus? What u rekon ?

It depends what you want to have it for - if you have it to get rid of a disfiguring scar, for example, then that's a one off and could be managed. But if you want to have several sessions of IPL to get rid of hair on your body, for example, then no, that's not worth it because you'll irritate the lupus far too much.

Hmmmmmm thats what i Wonted to remove hair but if it's a risk I wunt do it thank you xxxx
