Hi I am on Methotrexate and steroids at the moment. I'm on the steroids to help in the short term. It takes upto about 12weeks for methotrexate to take it's full effect. I'm starting to improve. That is probably the steroids. Good luck hope your begin to feel better soon.

Thank you friendly2013 I'm not on oral steroids just kenalog injection and hopefully this doesn't cause too many side effects I'm really scared to take methotrexate due to the nasty side affects , just started them today so hopefully I will get a bit better soon

Hi I have only been on Methotrexate for 3 weeks. I too was afraid to go on it due to the side effects ect I put a post on here and almost every one gave a positive response . I don't know how you'd find the posts but I'm sure they be useful to you. My GP put me on Lansoprasol to protect my stomach I take one capsule every day she also gave me an anti sickness tablet the name of which I haven't got here and I have taken 1 tablet about an hour before my methotrexate which I take once a week on a Monday. I have been prescribed Folic acid to take once a week on a Friday I understand people are given this in different strengths and different times ie some take it every day.

I hope this isn't to long winded. The good news I have is that I have not noticed ANY of the side effects which frightened me. Hope all goes well for you. I know some of the meds we take are scary but they are a necessary evil and the hope is that the benefits outweigh the problems. Also I believe some people don't stay on them long term which is good news. Take care Mary

Take care. I will be thinking of you. I saw my G P this morning and have an appointment with my Rhumy this afternoon. Yes it's a chore be as you say needs must. I console myself that at least I don't have to pay for all my health care, I dread to think what position I'd be in if I had to pay for everything.
