fibromalgia

hi just been told i have fibromalgia not sure what it is was wondering does any one else have this along with there lupus i have sle and raynaulds for the last 4 years so this condition is new to me any help would be appreciated ty angie

I was also diagnosed with fibro, about three weeks ago. It came completely out of the blue, I just thought I had been having another bad flare.

There is another excellent site on the communities here, Fibroaction, and they give a lot of advice about meds, coping strategies etc.

Sometimes it is difficult to know whether it's lupus or fibro, but the fibro med I have been given. (Pregabelin) is helping with sleeping.

I don't know if you have been given any help or advice at the clinic or GP. Sadly information is lacking and some GPs do not recognise fibro, many saying it's all in your head. Since many of us have had trouble getting a lupus diagnosis for the same reasons it can seem like deja vu

I was told by my rheumy that lupus and fibro very often go hand in hand and also hypothyroid. I also have TMJ, (a problem with my jaw), again it is all linked.

I am still finding out information, some seem contradictory, others you can relate too.

In my own case, I am not seeing the rheumy until April, so although it seems a big deal to me, it obviously isn't a problem to them!!!

Yes i have Fibro , lupus, antphoslipids to i was told its quite common in lupus patients.on lots of different meds , I have been diagnosed over 23 years now i was 21 at the time .
