I thought it was great. I learned a lot of things about Lupus I didn't already know.

Thank you so much for posting this, Dryad - you are right: an incredibly useful programme, with some terrific callers. I was pleased to hear I wasn't the only person diagnosed by a clever dermatologist (Dr Simon Davison). I won't pretend some of it wasn't frightening - but I'd rather know what to look out for than have the next sympton come as a huge shock. Prof. De Cruz's interview was terrific, particularly how far they've come in medication terms. Like one caller, I learned a lot I'd never heard before. It has also pointed me in the direction I need to go next (after a deeply unhelpful GP follow-up yesterday that included the immortal lines 'I'm not sure you do have lupus because you don't have a rash, and lupus is all about the rash' and 'What do you want me to do? You're already on morphine so there's nothing else I can give you'. Maraid, was it you who said it was only when you started crying that anyone listened to you? (If not, apologies for misremembering) At any rate, it took tears to make him remember that yes, there was something he might try, and thank heavens for that because I actually got some sleep last night for the first time since last Monday. We always have to try so hard, don't we?
Thanks Dryad!
Thanks for the link ...just listened to it with my husband and will make sure the rest of my family also listen to it.....hopefully then theyll have a better understanding too!....very informative and so nice to know that awareness of lupus is becoming more widespread.

It's was grate, really interesting
Thanks Dryad I had missed this and now listening to it.
Thankyou for posting that link....finally had a minibreakghrough with my fella, he hates reading so its hard for him to understand lupus, I think the clear example of the spoon theory has really stuck with him! Wow its a minor miracle, a little closer to him understanding, finally! Big smiles here! Ty x
Yey
Glad that it has been so useful to everyone! Me too. It was really awareness raising and it would be great if it could be nationally broadcast too rather than just regional one day.
Ditto would like to hear it..
