Plaquenil is silently working in the background and in 4-6 weeks time you'll wake up and realise that the brain fog has lifted - that's how it was for me. Don't get discouraged, it takes up to 8 months from starting medication to getting some sort of control over the illness, so try and be patient. Don't forget that the way you felt when you started steroids was artificial, when are we that happy and full of energy, even if healthy? Enjoy the long weekend, I hope you're not working during it!

plaq makes me feel very ill. I have fibro and only got this since taking the plaq now I am suffering badly with the runs and stomach ache. the body pain is hell. I am going to stop taking this horrible medication it has caused me nothing but distress and getting worse symptoms. nothing can make me continue with it now. I have given it 6 moths this year and this weekend has been the ultimate in my symptoms being unbearable. too much pain generally and now the diarreah enough is enough

Have you discussed these symptoms with your consultant? Are you currently taking Plaquenil or Quinoric? Are you taking the medication with meals? Have you been prescribed a stomach protector like omeprazole?
