Hiya,

I don't believe there are any meetings in Liverpool at present, though I may be wrong. If you contact the the North West lupus group, they will be able to tell you about what meetings there are closest to you. Their website is northwestlupus.org.uk/

You can also chat with them on Facebook (they have their own group). You may be able to find other people with lupus in the Liverpool area there. You can join their facebook group here - facebook.com/groups/nwlupus/

Hi christinelouise, there used to be a Liverpool group, I went to several meetings from about the mid 80s to the mid 90s, we would meet iat The Friends' Meeting House in Hanover Street and later at The Moat House, but it fizzled out due to lack of support, I couldn't always attend myself as I was very ill for a lot of that period. I think the trouble is that if it's the actual lupus sufferer who is involved in running or attending meetings their illness inevitably gets in the way.I subscribe to Lupus UK and used to get a local newsletter, now I don't even get that, only a North-West one which doesn't carry any news or info relevant to patients living in the Liverpool area, it only features Lancashire hospitals, patient groups, meetings etc. There used to be a contact for Liverpool, a lady who lived in Thornton I think, not exactly Liverpool but close enough, but I don't know if she is still involved, it was a long time ago.Perhaps if you get in touch with Lupus UK or the above mentioned North West group they might be able to tell you more.
