I know I’ve seen some links somewhere for holiday insurance for those with lung cancer or recovering somewhere. Does anyone have any recommendations please? Thank you in advance.

hi love how are you … sorry can’t help with the question but I know that if you do a search on this site , it’s been asked a few times and loads of lovely suggestions came up … hope you find something ! X
Well, I was planning Italy. My quote today was £435.00 for a week. I just don’t think it’s worth it. Xx
Hello Happy New Year hope you are doing OK. There are a number options but it is best to call them direct to discuss as it varies dependent on where you are going, timeframe ie 1year 1-3 year 3-5 years and ongoing treatment. Try the following

We have given up on long haul, not just because of the cost but my concerns re long flights and having issues with breathless, so we are opting for Europe and cruising, annual trips cheaper than one off and there are options.
Good luck and take care Hopex 🙋♀️
Thank you for that. I’ll give it a try today
Hi, I used "Insurance with" for my insurance for a 6 night cruise from Southampton to Hamburg and Bruges for myself (I have just got over lung cancer) and my wife for total of £55 !!! Roll on Thursday when we sail !!!!!!
I have spent a lot of time talking to insurers over the last few years and up until very recently could only obtain single trip cover at considerable expense from the very few who were prepared to insure me at all. However Insurance With have given me multi trip cover for Europe at a very reasonable cost and reasonable excess. I have stage 4 lung cancer with bone mets which has been stable on the same treatment since December 2017. They are definitely worth contacting. I spent Twixmas in Portugal and am now in Tenerife 😎. Hope you also get sorted and have a fabulous holiday/holidays. xx

Saga and post office.
They do not come cheap once you declare lung cancer.
We have used the above named in the past.
Declare all your illnesses.
Good luck 😃🤞
Hi there, I think most of us have been in this dilemma, my wife desperately wanted to see her sister who lives in Spain last year for a few days, we were quoted£1,600 for a 6 day break! Depending on where you want to go I think you have to risk assess it, you can apply for a GHIC card (like the E111 card we used to have before Brexit) which covers your treatment in most European countries, it won't cover the loss of your holiday or repatriation costs, or in some cases the cost of prescriptions. But if you are aware of the risks and you are considering a short trip to a 'local' country, it might work for you.
thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I’m going to try InsuranceWith in a bit and see what they say.
My difficulty with relying on EHIC card is that my husband doesn’t want to come at all. He is several years old than me and is rather forgetful and gets in a panic quite easily. I’m concerned that I may need to cancel because of his health concerns. If I was on my own I may very well chance it as I’m relatively healthy other than the lung removal. Currently I’m clear of anything.
Thank you again and Happy New Year xx

It varies enormously dependent on which country you're hoping to visit, what type of holiday (cruising always more expensive) as some countries like Spain despite being in EU (which we no longer are) use private hospitals.... I started travelling again in 2016 (my diagnosis was 2011) and could only get single policies but have travelled extensively since then for work and leisure - and some operators who are cheaper for one country might not be for another.... I've used Saga, Cloud Cover, Get Going, Axa, Staysure, All Clear. I tend to use price comparison sites like Payingtoomuch.com or medical travel compared. Insurance with and Insurecancer.com are specialist companies who insure advanced cancer and don't rely on algorithms to assess risk. The risk isn't necessarily of the cancer but what the treatment may also have done to your lungs - when in a change of climate - humidity, extreme heat/cold, altitude etc.... as sometimes may require medical evacuation which can be expensive to cover. Good luck.
