hello. Try insurancewith.com. My bank wouldn’t insure me and I had some scandalous quotes after but insurancewith were the cheapest and great customer service too . Hope you have a lovely trip
Hi - I couldn’t event get insurance with insurewith but refused to let that stop me - same as your husband really so I go with normal holiday insurance and enough money in the bank to get me home first class if needed quickly for anything related to potential side effects etc. the normal insurance will cover the normal stuff! Hope that helps! X
I was surprised to read that your amex card allowed you to claim for medical travel insurance for a pre-existing condition. Have you spoken to them and told them?
We have a travel insurance policy with our bank but as soon as we told them of my husband's cancer, they immediately added a condition to prevent them covering anything cancer-related. They cover other stuff still like theft or cancellation.
Like others, I have been so pleased with insurancewith.com. We really struggled to get insurance for my husband (stage 4 NSCLC) for ages - but they came up trumps with an affordable worldwide annual policy that covers all the normal travel policy stuff as well as anything cancer related.
I'd be a bit careful with Leniko's advice about most credit card companies. I think you would be excluded from claiming for any pre-existing conditions.
There have been great replies to your enquiry, you may or may not know that some airlines and insurance require a 'fit to fly letter' which you can get from your husbands GP or oncologist.
This is the link to our travel booklets which you may find useful, there is also a list of insurance providers: roycastle.org/app/uploads/2...
Hope you both have a fantastic trip away and it is encouraging to hear that your husband is keeping well, enjoy.
