I am nearly halfway through a course of radiotherapy with the aim of curing my lung cancer. I was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar position and if so, at what point do you start to feel the benefits of the treatment. I seem to feel worse as the treatment progresses. Thanks

I am in a different situation to you but wondered if you have read Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundations Booklet about Lung Cancer and Radiotherapy. Here’s the link if you want to read it roycastle.org/app/uploads/2... find that they have lots of useful information in their booklets eg short and long term side effects. Although everyone will respond in their own way.
Wishing you the best response to your treatment x
With radiotherapy the fatigue is cumulative and it was a couple weeks post treatment I started to notice how much better I was doing. An acquaintance actually stopped me in the street , told me I looked better and asked was I done with radiation
Hi Arthur, I had radical radiotherapy for lung cancer in 2016. The treatment was saber or sabre. It took a while before the treatment started because I first had to have an upper body mask made, it took longer to have the mask made than the actual treatment. However, 6 years on and I'm cancer free and have been since the end of treatment. Only problem now is that I have severe COPD, I had this condition before my treatment but it has deteriorated a lot in the last few years.
