SCLC good news, then kick in the teeth!

My wife was diagnosed with Advanced SCLC in March 2019 in her left lung and attached to her heart. After 2 cycles of Carboplatin and Etopiside she was scanned again and the tumor had shrunk by 1.3cm's, BUT they have found another tumor on the same lung. Has anyone else had this happen. A bit of good news first then the wind knocked from their sails?

Dear Babydoltina

So very sorry to hear about your wife's recent tumour, especially when the original one has shrunk. This must be a rollercoaster of emotions for all of you.

With her cancer being advanced, it may have been possible that there had already been spread elsewhere but only just picked up on the recent scan.

Please do not hesitate to call us if you wish to discuss anything on our Freephone nurse led helpline number 0800 358 7200

Kind regards
