Hi Barbara

I was happy to have surgery and just wanted to get it out as it was small and early diagnosis from a xray for something else. I was concerned of course, but really mine was very straight forward. I had key hole surgery which involved two small cuts one on my back the other to side of my right breast on the bra line and then a hole for the drain through my ribs. Surgeon thought he could do key hole but I had to be prepared for full surgery. I can honestly say I was not in any pain from the moment I woke up, just discomfort which got a lot easier as the weeks went on. Just had to keep realising that each week I felt better than I had the week before. I had surgery on the Monday morning (day before my 60th at end of March) and came home on the Thursday with a drain, which was uncomfortable but OK. My breathing is fine not a lot different to before perhaps little worse on hot heavy days but that's all. My energy levels just coming back although if I do silly things like scrubbing the path and patio I know about it which is what has happened this last week, I guess forget what went on inside and still a bit tender. I have been lucky, found early, small, operable , no further treatment and low grade, I had no choice really and would do it again if I had to, I know its scary but if they are giving you a yes to life I would take it every time. I hope this helps and please get in contact if I can be of any other help. Where do you live if local to me we could meet up. Hereford/Worcester/Shrewsbury triangle is my area.

Best wishes in whatever you decide.

Tina
