I have my results

Got a phone call last night which was mix of good and bad news. The good news is it's 80% certain my tumour is benign - doing a happy dance right now. The bad news is it is a neurogenic tumour on the lung and is pressing against my aorta, and is behind the aorta so any biopsy, surgery etc, is tricky and specialised. It is very rare and I am now waiting for an appointment with a cardio-thoracic surgeon to see how he wants to handle this. So a mix of emotions as don't really want to have open chest surgery but it is a possibility. Of course, I can only remember half of the conversation so am planning on calling my doctor again today to clarify a few things.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me advise and support, I shall keep popping back as cancer hasn't been taken off the table completely. But it is looking hopeful in that area at least.

Sounds like a relatively good bit of news to have. Hope the follow up goes well and your consultant can find a way of dealing with this rare tumour.

Keep in touch,

best wishes
