Seeking information & support re Pancoast Tumour.

I am a newbie and am wondering if there might be others out there in the same position? I have recently been diagnosed with a Pancoast tumour in my right lung. Biopsies & tests have shown the staging to be T4 N2. I have been told that this is non-operable and can only be treated on a palliative basis. Had my first cycle of Chemo ( Pemetrexed & Cisplatin), and also Immunotherapy ( Pembrolizumab).

Is there anyone out there in a similar situation? There seems to be very little info to be found, unless it's just me looking in the wrong places!

Pancoast tumors are very rare. And I know very little about them.

The Go2 Foundation has a free book that might help you understand more about your cancer. I checked the index, there is some information about pancoast tumors on page 13.

There is a lot of information that will help you to understand more about your diagnosis and treatment. You can download the book or request a free hard copy.

Cisplatin was one of the drugs they used to treat me. The others have replaced the etopicide I had because they demonstrated that they are more effective for most patients in a clinical trial.

If you develop a cold, burning, pins and needles feeling in your fingers or toes let your infusion nurse or the oncologist know right away. The neuropathy can become permanent but if caught early they can switch to carboplatin. Also if you start to get ringing in your ears let them know.
