Wondering if anyone has been on Taxotere and Cyramza and what kind of side effects have they experienced.
I am really not liking what I am reading. Have been on Alimta and Dr wanted to add Avastin, however my insurance co denied. I feel like my life is not in my doctors hands but some lousy insurance company. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi Taxetere, carplatin,he took me off Taxetere at 3 months. He said it was killing me. Had extremely bad breath pain in chest. My nails rotted. So he put me on abraxan which went right to the tumour and I was on it three months no problem with it and no problem with carplatin. My first treatment was on my birthday and it was taxal and had a very bad reaction. I almost died they didn't think I was going to make it. I know it's scary but don't give up keep fighting and have hope. I had stage 3 in lympnodes. After chemo my cancer is gone I'm a 6 year Survivor. You can do it. If I did so can you have faith.I'm here if you need to talk any time. Love susie jo1948
I had taxidere and one of the platin drugs. A tough combo but it may well have worked. I was then on alimta and avastin for 16 months , finishing with a year of alimta only. Still alive after 6 years IIIA/B lung cancer. Best Wishes, judg69
I am on the same plan and I've had 24 treatments and staying stable nothing has grown I did lose all my hair and my nails are now falling off but it has been 3 years I have learned must drink water Lots and you do get mouth sores but I use the biotin now and works very well I am fatigued for about 4 days after treatment then I start feeling better I have been doing this for a year-and-a-half every 3 weeks I have stage 4 lung cancer that metastasized to my brain and bones so I will always have cancer we are now just trying to keep it stable and not spread
I had 19 cycles of Taxotere/Cyramza (1 year) and continuing with Cyramza as maintenance since March. Stable scans since last August. This doublet was easier for me than Carbo/Alimta. Side effects still but I never felt as bad as I did with the platinum doublet.
Hair loss, loss of taste, weepy eyes, mouth and tongue sores but L-Lysine suggested by oncologist keeps sores at bay. Also, sucking on ice during the Taxotere portion of the infusion helps with mouth/tongue sores. GERD was worse so I took omeprazole and sucralfate for awhile. Only had to delay treatment by a week twice in a year because of low WBC and Neutrophils. Occasional fatigue, morning nose bleeds starting day 5 after treatment for a few days, minimal neuropathy, slight pleural effusion caused by Taxotere but never had pain, some fluid retention after about 9 months of treatment. All side effects have resolved since stopping Taxotere except dry eye and fatigue for about 3 days after Cyramza infusion. Be sure they check your vitamins D levels. I would do it all over again as have had great response. Please let us know what you decide. Wishing you all the best.
