Just need advice what to expect
I have stage 3B lung cancer and have completed 33 radiation and 12 chemotherapy treatments. I was given strong doses of each. The next to the last day of radiation, I stopped breathing a minute after the treatment was started. I had a mucus plug. They stopped the treatment and I was admitted to the critical care unit at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md. I was able to take my last two treatments while hospitalized and was released three days later, which was February 6, 2016. My CT scan showed that my inoperable tumor had shrunk 40%.
After I came home I was still vomitting and extremely exhausted for about a month. Things started to turn around in the next month and each day I gained more energy. Since the sickness has stopped, I was able to eat much better. I am now waiting to get my next CT scan on May 25th.
My energy level has greatly increased. I have been doing my yard work and cutting grass, about acre with about 1/2 hour with the push lawn mower and the remainder with the riding mower. The pollen level is very high here but I use my inhaler before going out and it seems to help.
I credit my good report because I am a born again Christian and I know God is giving me new strength each day. I don't allow myself to dwell on the fact that I still have lung cancer because if I do I start to a have a little pity party for myself. I consider that to be a total waste of time and energy.
Trust in the Lord and He will get you through this like you wouldn't believe possible. God bless you on this journey. If I can be of any help, send me a personal email at ruthwilkerson@comcast.net.
God bless you and your mother.

I pray your Mom's treatments can continue. Cancer is a horrible disease but I truly believe that God will give you and your Mum the strength to face the journey ahead. God bless you and your family.
I'm sorry to hear this. She's still a young woman at 55. I pray your Mum knows Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. If not, please call a Baptist minister and ask him to come to your Mum and lead her to the saving grace of Jesus. No matter what she has done in her lifetime, Christ will forgive and wants her to spend an eternity with Him. Please contact someone today. It will make her passing easier for all of you. God bless you.
