Nocturnal panic attacks? PTSD?

Hi

I have had three major bouts of anxiety and depression over the last 20 years. the last two times I did experience some nerve burning sensations in my sleep but this time its awful, happens most nites around 1am where Im having a vivid dream , racing heart, can feel my nerves going all over like Im pumping out adrenalin big time and then I wake up and my legs are restless

Im not aware there is anything organically wrong other than the effects of chronic stress (Im not working and down to 10% salary in a few weeks)

Is it PTSD

Any advice greatly received, Ive been on a bit of gabapentin which may be helping and Im going to try some amygdala retraining to calm it down

Gabapentin knocked me for 6 when I used it for nerve pain, totally out of it, don't want to go back there, I'm suffering badly with this at the moment hence night blogging 😕I've been using Neils Yard warming balm on my scalp alternating with an ice pack and Co codamol, for me there never seems to be a pattern to it, but when it starts I have a strong urge to hit my head with a hammer just to make it stop (joking of course but that's how bad it gets) just recently seen a Consultant neurologist who advised that most of my problems stemed from the side effects of anxiety depression meds, restless legs, virtigo, nerve pain, etc etc, we are in an ever decreasing circle 😊

You used the word "restless". Do you know about restless leg syndrome? My mom and other friends had it and say it's really frustrating. However, there's a drug (sometimes they use a drug that's also an anti-depressant which could also help with your depression). Anyways, my mom knew exactly what time to take it and it has something to do with sleep, even napping. In the end of her life she was on dialysis. She'd take right when she got there since she had to sit for hours and dose off.
