Sleep and Anxiety

living with anxiety can get me down often when I can't do things I feel I can do. Such as getting out of bed. I feel my anxiety over the past few moths has been causing my sleep to be awful so I never wake up feeling well rested and often need to nap during the day which is so not me. I have tried lots, not eating for a while before i sleep, meditation, mindfulness. Other than that, my anxiety is currently under control. Any advice?

Hello bonnieblue1 :-)

So sorry you have had no replies but I will do my best :-)

The way I read your post and correct me if I have got it wrong but your anxiety is under control except you are feeling tired and as if you have not had a good nights sleep as well as taking naps during the day

As well as anxiety , depression can creep in sometimes which can make us feel tired , do you think you could be possibly depressed ?

I would possibly go and see my Doctor and ask for routine blood tests such as iron as well as vitamin D been tested

Sometimes they look at you gone out when you ask for your vitamin D levels to be checked but so many with anxiety have low levels and this can contribute to feeling tired , so that is where I would start :-)

Let us know how you get on :-)

Take Care x

I have struggled with depression over time but never realised it could manifest like that. I can sleep up to 8 hours a night but still don't feel it is enough. Thank you for your helpful tips. Doc appointment at some point in the near future.

thanks

xx

Hello :-)

I would go and get an appointment as both depression or low iron or vitamin D can make you feel exactly how you are feeling and letting them check that out could possibly get you the answer and if it were your iron or vitamin D they can soon get that back up which would give you more energy :-)

Make that appointment as soon as you can it is better than feeling drained and tired all the time :-) x

I am so sorry you are going through this. Anxiety is such a difficult thing to deal with. Have you talked to anyone (like a close friend or family member) about what you are going through? It always helps me when I vent my feelings to someone I trust. Also, another thing that helps with my anxiety is exercising. I hope everything gets better!
