Hi I’ve been dealing with anxiety for a while now. I’ve lost tons of weight and still have no appetite. I’m currently taking Lexapro and Ativan as needed but neither seems to help. At first I felt relief. I went to ER yesterday because I’ve been having abdominal pain. They did a ct scan they said they didn’t see anything but a cyst on left ovary but I feel they are missing something. Also in the process I was told I had elevated lactic acid levels didn’t know what that meant until I googled it. Big mistake now I’m convinced I’m terminally ill. Well they give my fluids and levels went back to normal so the doctor said it must have been dehydration related but I don’t see anything online that states dehydration cause elevated lactic acid levels all I see is dangerous and terminally ill problems. Can someone please tell me if they have heard of lactic acid levels and it’s cauesss before? Anxiety through the roof!!!!

Hello Jones567 & Welcome :-)

I wish you had posted before you went and looked on Google because Dr Google as I call it will always tell you the worse scenario and feed your anxiety which creates more fear and then more anxiety till you feel you cannot cope any longer and my first suggestion would be please leave Google alone , like anxiety it is not your friend and it does not have your medical records , neither your test results but your Doctor does and if you have expressed your concerns and they say they are not worried you have to start to trust them as they are the experts when it comes to your physical health :-)

You seem to have a good combination of medication for your anxiety but sometimes what works well for one does not always have the same effect on someone else and it can take a few changes till we find what will work best for us :-)

Maybe a visit to the Doctor again , making notes of all your concerns and how you are feeling the fact the medication is not helping and asking if they think changing them would be a good idea would be the way to go to start with :-)

Be assured that the way you feel the fear etc is how we have all felt or still feeling but in time with the right treatment and support it does get better :-)

I know you have lost your appetite but try and eat small amounts , little and often maybe as when we are lacking food it really does not help and will make you feel weak and then the anxiety will start playing on those feelings to

If you need to talk there is always someone around that will listen :-)

Let us know how you get on :-)

Take Care x

Hi Jones567

I am sorry to hear of what a difficult time you are having.

Unfortunately I am unable to help as I have never heard of it myself but I hope that you can seek some more medical advice to answer the questions you still have. I would definitely agree with Lulu and say google is not our friend in health situations.

I hope you can find some peace and find the answers you are looking for x

Hi jones567 I definitely agree with lulu and Ellie, go back to see your doctor with your concerns and ask for some more tests as losing that amount of weight so quick is worrying bless you 😞 I've had to tell my friend today to stop self diagnosing herself by looking at Google it can be dangerous....I hope you get some answers, please let us know ❤
