Hi
Does anyone else keep smelling smoke when there is no smoke around? I am getting myself in a right state as I googled this ( I know I shouldn't) and it says it is a sign of a brain tumour.

Hello
Are you still smelling smoke ?
Google will tell you all the worse scenarios to help your anxiety I would not go on Google even though I know it is tempting
I often smell things even smoke before and it is nothing at all and certainly not a BT , sometimes when we have anxiety we are very sensitive , to smell , touch and even noise , I would really try to cast this thought out your mind it will be your anxiety playing up
Take Care x
Hi
Thank you for your reply I still smell it now and again but it always seems to be in one room of the house only neither myself or my husband smoke, but we have only been here for 2 months so maybe the owner before smoked in the room. Like you say I shouldn't google because it is the worse thing when you have anxiety.
You know what I think you have got the answer
If you are not a smoker you can smell smoke a mile of as they say and if someone did smoke that lived there before for you been a non smoker and maybe having a sensitive smell then that I would say will be it
I have a sensitive smell and I can smell bonfires an hour or more before anyone else does , they will say to me how did you know there was a bonfire we could not smell it
I really would not worry , not sure if you are going to be decorating etc but once you have put your own input into the house I think it will go and no Google is the worse thing ever and I really do not think even though I am not a Doctor but I would still say on this one it is not a BT
Hope you have a lovely weekend , it is warm if you are in the UK so you can leave the windows open and let the smell out and some fresh air in x
Thank you for your support.
Hi lizzy407. Did you get to the bottom of your smoke smells? I'm experiencing the same and have also moved to a new place (just over 2 months ago) but nobody else can smell the smoke and it's driving me bonkers. I've checked with the landlord and nobody has smoked inside and I can't find smoke coming in anywhere. I tend to notice it at the same time every day. Eeeek!
I literally have the same problem. But, it's a smoking apartment. The landlord told me the last person that lived here was here for 17 years (who knows what happened to them...) never smoked. I know this because I submitted a work order for the room because the issue is only in the bedroom! I can't believe it!
I have an extremely sensitive smell and absolutely nobody I know can smell things like I can. It's insane. However, in these instances I've been tested by asking others about the smells, there was a legitimate source of the smell. In this case, though, it's not so obvious.
You see, I've sealed the vents with aluminum foil (they suck in air so it's pretty easy) but I know for a fact having the vents open makes it stink throughout the apartment. So does that mean the smell is really there? I don't know. But there's definitely no nicotine residue that you can notice anywhere in the apartment (even with the ugly paint color) and it just means I have an acute sense of smell.
So what can I say? If the smell isn't in my clothes in the bedroom closet... like, should I care? And that's the question really. Is it worth caring about? Maybe something else is in your life right now and it's making you notice these smells more than you usually would, either by being in that room more often than usual (like me right now) or perhaps it's just related to your mood.
I remember the last job I had a coworker who smelled 100% like someone who just got out of the shower. Sometimes you luck out. Sometimes, not so much I guess, eh?
