Steroid injection
I am a little concerned that it's
Kenalog
, which I thought was banned in UK. Although I am desperate to get rid of the shoulder pain, I don't like the look of the listed side effects.

Any thoughts on this method of pain relief for RA please?I've been offered this by the rheumy nurse and must admit to a bit of a shock when the email came through as I thought this drug had been withdrawn 50 years ago! My husband was on this for his asthma when I first met him back in 1973 until he was

HISTORY OF LEFT SHOULDER INJURY
Since those distant days I have been referred to the care of an MSK Interface specialist who put me through a range of exercises and gave me an injection of
Kenalog
20mg. Again sent me home but OK to return to work. He will ring me in 3 weeks.

Prednisone and Kenalog 40 mg. injection question
This week I went to my Orthopedic Surgeon for follow-up on a long standing right shoulder issue (DJD) and he recommended an injection of
Kenalog
(40mg). I contacted my Rhumy who confirmed going ahead with this procedure.

Coming down from Kenalog
Back in June, about 6 weeks ago, I had a
kenalog
injection (80mg). It took 3 weeks to get to full effect (which was about 50% effective) and now I feel like I'm going back to as I was. I'm still waiting for my DMARD to be prescribed so not too surprising.

Being realistic about treatment and work
RA diagnosis confirmed last week by consultant (although the letter uses words like 'think' it's RA and 'if it doesn't resolve' with a
Kenalog
jab. I have my next appointment in 2.5 weeks. In the meantime, 8 days since my jab, I have found my knees have improved but that's all.

AI and MAB/biological question
Hi everyone A really niche question to the community but hopefully someone will have an answer 😅 Long story short; long term steroids now finally at 5mg (4-5 years, averaging 20mg pred, ended up on
kenalog
steroid injections).

Two weeks on Tocilizumab and all is well...
Either the
Kenalog
steroid injection is still working after 6 weeks (never experienced this much relief before), or the Tocilizumab kicked in straight away, or possibly a bit of both.

Covid with sle and vaccine
I’m off hydroxychloroquine in 2017, after ten years and have
Kenalog
iv injections every 12 weeks. I’m 64 and getting my vaccine this Tuesday. Was worried about Pfizer but does seem ok for lupus as well as Oxford.

😳😬😅🤣
to them all either (I’ve only called that number twice before 😅) As I said usually contact local hosp when there are issues or if I have a question and they are usually ok (less so since they’ve gained more nurses who don’t understand severe asthma but hey ho) I swapped off of prednisolone and onto

Steroids - Everything you need to know!
They know
kenalog
80 equates to maybe about 20mg/day but again they aren’t sure 😅. If you’re on IM steroids make sure your asthma action plan reflects this, as it’s likely to be different to if you are on maintenance pred.

Bone density loss with methotrexate?
I’ve had triamcinalone/
Kenalog
IM injections a handful of times in past 3 years but no oral steroids. After methotrexate being withheld 4 weeks whilst in Ortho ward, I’m struggling big time with flare and trying to use crutches.

Kenalog injection
I am hopeful that the
Kenalog
steroid may still kick in within the next week or so ? Had any one else had a delayed response to this steroid injection. The nurse was sympathetic did say ring again next week if i still had not relief . Sorry for such a lengthy message

Weight gain from steriods
I have gone from a size 8 to a size 14 due to being on steriods for 3 years on an off and currently on
Kenalog
injections . I have currently got really deep stretch marks which are sore and red and purple and I get very embarrassed and upset about these.
