has anybody had triamcinolone injection for macular oedema. I am having a cataract op in 3 weeks time and I will be having this injection around the eye at the same time. I think it is also called Kenalog
steroid injections: has anybody had... - Macular Society
steroid injections
I also have macular odema and I get eylea injections they seem to b holding the swelling down but are very painful not the injection but the after math please let me know how your injection goes I will be sure to ask my eye dr about these
I have been having Eylea injections and these are not painful for me. I use dry eye drops after and this seems to help a lot. My consultant said my oedema was stable but she would like to see it improved so suggested Ozurdex implant which I should have had prior to the cataract op. When I went for it it had not been ordered and so my consultant was going to do the implant at the same time as the cataract op. This op was postponed as it was being done by a consultant not trained to do injections and so she rang me to discuss it, I had been concerned that the steroid implant could be seen until it dissolves (around 5 months) and she suggested this instead which is not injected into the eye but around the eye.
I will let you know how both go
Actually this is a reply to a comment in thom3patty's post. I have no idea if this is relevant or not, but I suffered months of pain after injections. Nothing worked; washouts; anaesthetic drops.... Very fortunately the culprit was found. It was iodine. Equally important; by diluting the iodine the pain was avoided. All the best Koalajane. xx
like fed 13 had horrendous pain after injections. The culprit was iodine. No pain after jags when alternative was used. Good luck koalagane.
