endometriosis / pregnancy/ ITP / high blood pressure

Hi all,

I’m due for my laparoscopy surgery sometime in Mar 2020. I also have ITP, my count has been good between May - Jul 2019 at 178, however , sometime in Oct , It’s gone down to 149. My last relapse was in Feb 2012 and I was treated with Steroids. My platelets counts always been in the region of 80-100 except sometime in 2018 it went down to 45. But we haven’t touched any medication and as much as possible I’ve tried to have a good diet.

The reason I’m writing now is, sometime end of 2018 I was diagnosed with High Blood pressure and I’m currently on medication 5mg amlodipine daily.

My worry here is with ITP, high blood pressure , can I still have normal pregnancy. I’m 40 and never been pregnant before. But now that I’m with someone , I would like to take my chances.

Can anyone of you that have gone through something similar or know someone, can you share some tips and advises ??

Hi Shielz - I am going thru 3 way bypass at the end of Jan 2020. Tomorrow I start Nplate for 3 enjections. My count is 8K. You should be fine.

Hi there,

I had a high blood pressure and ITP in remission when I got pregnant. Amlodipine was removed, all went fine.

Is amlodipine a problem?

I’m not sure to be honest. Right I’ve been prescribed to have optimal blood pressure.
