• Rare Disease Day occurs annually on the last day of February.
o The event has been active since 2008.
o The ITP Support Association has participated since 2010.
• ITP is one of over 6,000 recognized rare diseases.
o Approximately 3 and a half million people in the UK live with some form of rare disease.
• Social media will be used to promote information about rare diseases throughout February.

o Shift from "non-malignant haematology" to "medical haematology."
