This is the recording of the Scotland ITP Support Group Meeting that took place on Wednesday 5thFebruary 2025 with Dr. Catherine Bagot, plus Mervyn Morgan ITPSA CEO and members of the ITPSA Board.

There was a huge range of questions discussed and debated during this meeting; you will need to watch the whole video.

Patients with ITP should maintain a healthy lifestyle.

• Recommendations include keeping fit, maintaining normal weight, and not smoking.

• Regular check-ups are important.

• Patients should visit their GP for blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checks.

Dual Antiplatelet Therapy Post-Surgery?

Rare Disease Day.

• Rare Disease Day occurs annually on the last day of February.

o The event has been active since 2008.

o The ITP Support Association has participated since 2010.

• ITP is one of over 6,000 recognized rare diseases.

o Approximately 3 and a half million people in the UK live with some form of rare disease.

• Social media will be used to promote information about rare diseases throughout February.

Patient Experiences with Treatments.

Recognition of ITP as a Serious Condition

• Medical haematology now recognised as important.

o Shift from "non-malignant haematology" to "medical haematology."

• Ongoing efforts to raise awareness of ITP challenges.

o When returning from London please check train schedules for any potential disruption affecting West Coast Mainline services.
