2017
hello everyone, I am Ellie I'm 40 and almost 2 years ago I was I n an induced coma.
Thanks for reading.
I had been feeling unwell a while so phoned for the 3rd time to my doctors.
Got given yet another telephone consultation that resulted in some antibiotics.
I was pregnant at the time so had to be extra careful what medication I took.
After feeling awful for days I decided to phone 111 helpline as I was struggling breathing and was panicking a little bit especially over my unborn.
That’s when I explained my symptoms and with in a few minutes the paramedics were here and sending for an ambulance.
I had blue flashing sirens all way to a+e and that’s were I became unconscious and still to this day remember nothing.
I was then put into an induced coma, had my baby at 26wks +3 days.
Was paddled twice had my lungs cleared out twice.
I had pneumonia I was placed on life support for the next two weeks.
My parents and husband were prepared for both our deaths.
Although we both survived we lost a lot.
My marriage dissolved completely, my dad died, my little boy faces many disabilities in the future.
My memory is still badly affected by the coma.
I still don't full understand what happened or why but I know I felt so lonely and thought it was only me that this happened to obviously its not and hope people who read this little bit about my story feel comfort.
