My father-in-law is currently in the CCU unit. He was diagnosed with double pneumonia and a bad merca infection in his blood. To are keeping him in a medically induced coma but his condition is only getting worse. Has anyone ever dealt with this situation before? If so, can someone please give me some ideas on how to aide with his recovery. This is really taking a toll on my wife and I'd give ANYTHING to help her get through this without losing her dad.

Double pneumonia
I’m so sorry to hear what your family are going through.
My wife found this article useful in parts whilst I was ill & fighting for my life,
m.huffpost.com/us/entry/271...
What she found most difficult was the emotional rollercoaster- good news/ bad news/ worse news/ better news etc etc - the truth was that ICU was trying to stabilise me enough for me to take back over. I was in a coma for two months. Eventually I turned a corner & life is mostly back to normal - 18months on.
I'm very much in same situation.. Only thing that differ is that it's my Mother in law.. She is also diagnosed with double pneumonia, MRSA, and is on Ventilator and is in induced coma for last 10 days.. But showing no improvement.
Doctors are trying Ventilator in prone position to relieve her lungs a bit and buy sometime to let lungs recover... All they tell us to pray and hope from r the best.
