Staying strong for my mum on life support in icu. Praying she makes a miraculous recovery. I know it's going to take time. Staying strong.

I will pray for you, your mum & family at this difficult time.

I have a 14 year old daughter called Amy, who is still in a critical condition in a coma, not induced in ICU after she was knocked down a week ago today, suffering horrific injuries.

Thank you Laura. I too, will also pray for Amy. I've been praying to Saint padre pio. I'd also like to take this moment to tell you a story. I'm with a man, who is 52 now. When he was 17, he was knocked down by a double decker London bus. He too had appalling injuries and his family didn't think he would make it. He had been impaled on the bus's brake line, his left leg had been ripped off, and he took many knocks to the head. He was kept in a coma for a while, but gradually he came back. He had a punctured lung, medication had destroyed one of his kidneys, and he had a collapsed lung. It took nearly 3 years for him to mend well enough to go home. Now, he is a man of many talents, and has a good life. He has 5 children and has married twice. The accident made him stronger, helped him see he can get through anything. And Amy will too. I know you will be worried sick for your baby girl right now, but try and be strong. I'll pray for a full recovery for Amy too.

God bless you and your family.

Laura and Ella, you are both still in our prayers. Please stay strong for your loved ones. Strength comes in many ways, whether it's letting friends and family visit, to give you some respite, or having a really good cry, or doing some shopping, something normal.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us in this community, it's what we are here for.

Hi I've just returned from the hospital. My mums life support is going to be turned off this afternoon. The consultant has told us all they are doing is prolonging her death. I'm staying strong and hoping that she carries on breathing on her own, but it's unlikely. If she does, the hospital will carry on helping her. Thankyou all for your prayers and support. It's helped me stay strong during this difficult time. Much love and thanks to you all, and I will continue to pray for Amy and anyone else who needs my prayers.

So very sorry and sad to hear your news. You must be in complete shock. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I don't normally post but needed to tell you (like so many people on this site) that you are not alone, so many people will be thinking about you at this very difficult time. Lots of love, Liz xx

Thankyou Liz. It's a hard time for us right now, but I pray that my mum is now safe and at peace and is no longer suffering. Thankyou to everyone for all of your comforting words. Xx

I'm so very sorry Ella, I'm in tears for you. I can't imagine what you've been through but like anyone on here that has been in your mums situation, the last thing we would want is for our family to suffer. Please know she's at peace xxx

Thankyou. Losing my mum has Been so very hard on all of us, but she was strong and brave right to the very end, and I know I'm a lot like her. She would want me to be too. I'm sad that she wasn't strong enough to get through it, but so very glad that she isn't suffering any more and never will again.

Ella. Xx

Oh Ella - I have been following your trail on HealthUnlocked and I'm so sorry to hear your very sad news. I can empathise with you as my husband died in very similar circumstances 18 months ago. It was and still is a tough road to travel but with help and care from friends and family you will survive this very difficult time as have I. As you say, your mum was a strong woman and you are too. Take good care of yourself, get plenty of sleep if you can and accept all the help that is offered. My prayers are with you and your mum who is now at peace in heaven. xxxx Val xxxx
