Does anyone's symptoms get worse

I think a lot of us get these - this was one of my main concerns when i was waiting for my diagnosis and worrying about MS. My neurologist put me on iron tablets which helped the restless legs, the muscle cramps and spasm pains were helped a lot by lyrica (pregabilin) - I still get the sensations but the pain isnt as bad. They take a while to get in to your system but I notice a big difference when im on them. My consultant says its very common in APS. My physio thinks its the signals from the brain not supplying the nerves/muscles properly and they sort of spasm and dont really know when to switch off xx
I have been getting these spasm/cramps in my legs since I was 13 years old and I get them all over my body now age 55. I tried Lyrica for 5 years without much luck. I have found what works for me is calcium citrate and vitiamin D daily and a Vitiamin D mega dose (50000 IU) everyother week. If I miss a day or two I start cramping up even in my throat when I yawn... Night time is worse but I get them anytime of the day... good luck.
Hi there, for me a mattress topper that allows weight distribution so that the pressure on key points (hips, knees for example) is lessened. Stretching exercises before going to bed (and getting up giving that everything seems to stiffen up over night) Making sure the bed is warm. Having a heating pad available to apply to the affected area. I have a friend who suffers from dreadful cramps who swears by tissue salts.
If I don't eat a banana twice a week I get leg cramps at night. I think I'll ( carefully, since I am on warfarin,) try a bit of Vitamin D.
I've been getting excruciating leg cramps while I sleep since 2005. It literally feels like someone is snapping my ankle. I wake up screaming and cursing. Like Dorothy, I use a heating pad every night since cold seems to trigger them. I wear thick loose fitting socks and pj pants. Not very glamorous. My doc just suggested taking magnesium before bed 200-400mg. I also do stretches before calling it a night and drink lots of water. I think the act of getting up to relieve my bladder (i.e. the movement) helps keep them at bay. Like Susie mentioned, I too get the cramp in my neck while yawning. This makes me feel better reading all of these posts. I asked my doctor to prescribe a muscle relaxer to take before bed, I take 10mg of Flexeril.
I used to suffer really badly with cramps. My GP suggested. I eat more salt. I never. used to add salt to food or eat much processed food . I now use sea salt regularly and I believe it has helped. I always used salt in water as a cure based on my Mum advice and it usually worked quite quickly. If you already use a lot of salt or have high blood pressure this might not be right for you but it made sense for me. Bedtime wishes Annual
