Hi all,

In a number of conversations people have been talking about the fact that if they get a cold, sick, have an operation (Minoror major) or basic illness that it is made worse or it takes a lot longer for people to get better.

Is this something that has happend to you I know in the past i had my appendix out and was toild healing time was 3-4 weeks and 5 months later the area was still sore and painful more than it was suppose to docs thought i was milking it.

So who had had these type of issuse as well.

Paddy

A cold brings me out in psoriarisis from head to toe, every virus arrives making my eyes sore, all virus's and infections make my joints throb in time to my heart beat. Anything streppy around me makes me so ill that my psoriasis is off the scale. Any ailments give me one long drawn out migraine for days. Monthly hormones can put me in bed for two weeks etc etc. A nasty infection that needs antibiotics will make my hands and feet swell up like balloons, and I can lose the use of them for weeks if not months. Every ailment makes my kidneys throb etc etc. Mary F x My lower spines inflames with the greatest of ease to the point that I can't feel my feet.

I have put the increasing time taken to get over things as growing older-it happens to others who don't have Hughes. A job to separate out what might be growing old and what might be down to Hughes..

Yes it does seem to take us longer to heal & sometimes longer to recover from things more, even a simple cold can make our usual symptoms ( joint pains etc ) feel worse plus I've been advised to always keep an eye on even a cold as it could turn .

when had my gall bladder out it took longer for the 'wounds' to heal & some got infected, I had to go back in too a week longer with complications, they asumed it was because of the slow healing process?? The bruising covered the whole of my tummy & ribs area!

I had nasal surgery three years ago, and was told it would only be 2-3 weeks recovery and I could return to work. Had to have 11 weeks off as it just would not heal and kept getting recurring infections.,

I was beginning to feel like i was just falling apart. recently had one thing after another wrong with me. Worsening headaches, joint pains, nasal drip, chest infections, temperatures. only had 2 days off work but feel washed out and could sleep for a week or more. x
