Will you help me raise funds and publicity for the Foundation? On Saturday 10th December 2011 my Wool Shop is 7 years old. I am marking this occasion with a fundraising day for The Hughes Syndrome Foundation. There will be a book sale, collection tins, information leaflets, knitting lessons and the launch of the Happy Hughes Hat Knitting Kit (all the profits from the sale of these kits will go to the HSF) and lots of other things. It's from 10am - 5.30pm at Avicraft, 15 Chatterton Road, Bromely, BR2 9QW. Please tell everyone you know. avicraft.co.uk (click on wool shop)

This is great... I don't live near enough to come, but will donate... send me your address by private email and I will send something Mx

Sharon,

I'd really like to turn up for this. It's not like HealthUnlocked to dip in like this, but my boyfriend lives in Bromley and I'm still trying to learn more about what's around there so will definitely pop along if we're in Bromley on that Saturday.

What a great idea to raise awareness among the Saturday shoppers!

Best wishes,

Katie

hi guys

thought I should clarify...all I'm asking from you is publicity, tell everyone you know! Publicise it in any way you can please. You guys here give enough. I'm thrilled that the local paper has already been in touch, so I am thinking big and may hitch a ride on Kirsty Allsops "craft" tails and her popularity and see if I can get the local news interested in covering the Hughes side. Especially as my best friend is currently in hospital with an unshrinkable DVT!

Spread the word,

Love sharonx

Thanks as ever, Sharon. Your knitted book characters went down a storm in the summer and I'm sure your shop's birthday party will too. I am seeing Yvonne the day before so will let her know too :)

Yvonne did a spot of publicity for us when I was organising the sponsored walk back in 2006 - newsshopper.co.uk/news/heal... - I believe that News Shopper is your local? It might be worth chasing the same journalist as they've already done an article - that's if they're still there though.

Don't forget that we have a fact sheet for journalists and are happy to help in anyway we can with raising awareness. I can even get sound bites and/or interviews from Professor Hughes if it's all in a good cause :)

I have emailed you about the leaflets etc - they should be with you soon.

Kate x

PS. Thanks for any support you can give Katie

Hi Kate, Yvonne popped into the shop this evening she's got a banner and a few other bits for me. I will get on to the NewShopper too. I don't expect to raise a fortune but every penny counts :)

Love Sharon x

Marvellous - yes, we got the banner for her stall at the Lewisham People's Day. Good luck with NewShopper!
