I think the change in weather ?? high to low pressure or the otherway round makes me have worse symptoms I think its from warm weather to cold ? maybe it works like people with bone pain some say their pain is better in warm weather.

I haven't checked my inr regulary at the time i will start to make notes and take a bit more notice

My own opinion is that the heat really affects my INR and makes my blood thin. I had an issue last year with this so I rang the clinic two weeks ago just before going on holiday to say I thought I should reduce my warfarin they said NO. on holiday within first few days I was bruising really badly for no reason so I reduced my meds also rang my GP and said I wanted to take take nothing for one day, they said no! The result INR really high when i returned from holiday so they say no warfarin for three days and appointment at hospital due to readings. When oh when will they listen to the patient if they had listened to me originally I wouldn't be covered in bruises nd my INR would be ok. Personally I feel that I don't want a pharmacist dictating my warfarin meds as I have found that I can manage it better myself. Sorry for sounding off but it this has affected me in the last two weeks so it's quite raw. and I think we knw more about our bodies the drs nd pharmacists work to guidelines but we are all individuals and I'm sure that we are all affected by things differently and they need to listen to us just as we listen to our bodies. Sorry if I haven't helped realise I've just let off steam (but i dont to that often)

apologies x

I agree that with a modest amount of information and experience, we do manage our INR better then the labs.

And how weather fronts effect INR and joint pain? THAT is the64K$ question! I note there is a correlation, but the skeptic in me wants to hear a logical sequence behind this relationship!

Hi, All.

Just to wade in here, the medical profession recognised the effect of the moon on certain mal-adjusted individuals a few centuries ago, hence the term lunatic.

If it is possible for the planets near us to have an effect on our mental states, why then , would it not be possible for them to have some similar effect on our physical states as well?

My best guess would be simply that no-one medical has noticed or studied the co-relation and come up with identifiable facts to support it.

And (as we all know ) without proof, it doesn't exist. Right?

And just for the hell of it, this someone needs to be credible, and willing to stick their neck out to push the point,

Sorry, don't think it's going to happen!

I agree with WayneL on the lunatic effect. I worked at a top 10 teaching hospital for 15 years before CNS vasculitis and APS finally disabled me. I started out as Assistant to the President and continued on in many interesting positions. There was a time I worked in the psych ward as well as emergency room and any psych or ER nurse will tell you that the hospital census goes up with the full moon. These patients are actually expected on the full moon, particularly in psych. The bed coordinator has a heck of a time finding enough beds. The inpatients even get more symptomatic and they don't even know if there is a full moon. It's the same on Christmas evening. Everyone eats, drinks and does what they are not supposed to and sure enough, standing room only in the ER! It's like clockwork every year. Nurses will tell you that doctors don't consider their opinions credible. Wayne is right. Without documented proof by more than one credible source.. it doesn't exist!
